Was it what you thought?
It's just a pan of congealed grease and meat juice. I went to wash it after dinner and it just looked so much like a Google Earth satellite picture. Looks really gross but the short ribs were yummy!!

I took the kids to the zoo today. The day started off pretty crappy. Kieran had a meltdown over cereal.
There were some good parts of the day. The kids love the fact that I hate the Skyfari.
If they were older, they'd be the kids that made the bucket swing while Mommy turns green.
The otters are one of our favorites.
I just know there is a sign on the
other side of the glass that says:
Our day ended on a high (not to be confused with the lunch time high) note. We went to the Sea
Lion Show and they picked Kieran to be the helper. I was laughing so hard, I was crying.

My horoscope for today....
Romance is in the toilet today. Party plans might be cancelled or delayed. Matters related to children might be burdensome or difficult to deal with. Just chalk it up to experience.
Every once in awhile one of these things is too spot on.

Everybody sing along...
Every body pauses and stares at me
These two teeth are gone as you can see
I don't know just who to blame for this catastrophe!
But my one wish on Christmas Eve is as plain as it can be!
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, see my two front teeth!
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth, then I could wish you "Merry Christmas."

Feis Weekend
We spent the weekend at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort at the kids first Feis. It was tiring but a lot of fun. Poor Kyle got stage fright and didn't dance at all. He was upset after and wanted them to start his competition over. Oh well-next time. Kieran was amazing. He's the goofiest, least motivated in dance class but he looked like an old pro on stage.
My soda bread didn't even place-I'm a big loser. All in all it was a great weekend. The kids are excited about their next feis. Probably in Orange County in February.

We got there Friday night to help get every thing ready. Paul helped build the dance floors and met a bunch of the other Dads. He's a "Feis Dad" now.
He took 3 third places and 4th in a special trophy dance. Kendra took 5th, 6th and 7th.

Tis The Season...
We've really been getting in the holiday mood with special treats. Wednesday evening my sister and I took the kids to dinner at Dublin Square Irish Pub in downtown San Diego. Really good food and Guinness the way it should be, from the tap. Mmm Mmm good! Then we went to the Civic Theater and saw Lord of the Dance. Amazing! We'd seen it on DVD but to see and hear it live was so much better. It was also very cool because the kids could recognize steps that they do. We had a great time.

This afternoon the kids and I went to Holiday Jubilee at the California Center for the Arts. It was mostly Christmas carols and dancing. It reminded me of a cross between The Lawrence Welk Show and a Donny and Marie Christmas Special. It was fun though. We also got to see Santa and the city Christmas tree lighted.

Shhh%#t!!
Now I'm the only hold out for the Hawkins barforama. Paul threw up all day Saturday in Malibu while on a strike team. The nice residents of Malibu brought him all sorts of tummy settlers but it didn't help much. The guys lost him for awhile. They didn't realize he was on the floor of the engine in the fetal position. He came home yesterday and slept from 4:00pm till this morning. We think he's over the worst of it. Kyle and Kendra on the other hand stayed home from school today and filled buckets. They ate a tiny bit of dinner and haven't lost it yet. Maybe a good nights sleep and they'll be OK. My stomach is making scary sounds. I can't get sick. I'm the Mom. I'm not allowed to get sick.
