Where's my coffee?!?
Nope, it's our downstairs bathroom. Why? you ask is our coffee maker in the bathroom. Because the f-ing power is out (again) on one side of the kitchen. Paul doesn't know why he took the coffee maker into the bathroom instead of just putting it on the other side of the kitchen. Do you have any idea how frightening it was to come down stairs in the morning and have the coffee maker missing?
ried mouse that
Paul found in the outlet box,
was the problem.

OCEANSIDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Dear Parent/Guardian:
From time to time children in our schools are found to have head lice and/or nits (Pediculosis). Since head lice can pass easily from one person to another, we thought you would like to know that this is now occurring in your child’s classroom.
This came home with Kieran today. The nurse checked the whole class and no one other than the original "offender" has any unwanted stow-aways. Kieran told me about a month ago that this same girl told him she had lice. I didn't think much about it because the school never sent home any type of note. We're keeping lots of fingers crossed that this doesn't spread.

Winter in Southern California
Paul left today for a week in Mexico so we went out to breakfast on the pier Sunday morning. For those of you who don't know, he goes about twice a year to teach the firemen down there to be paramedics.

Big Kid Toys
I've wanted a new camera for a long time. We've had an HP digital point and shoot since the kids were about 4. I have an old Nikon 2000 that hasn't seen the light of day in years. I really doubt there are any memory cells left for a 35mm slr. Anyway, thanks to the taxes coming back quickly, I have a new Nikon digital slr.
I've only been able to play with it for a little while but it's an amazing camera.
Thanks JenJenqld for the advice.

Mommy Thoughts
Sand..............It's everywhere. I understand the little piles next to kicked off shoes after school, I understand it being in the washer and dryer and I understand sand in the bath tub. What I don't understand is sand in my bed. I wouldn't mind if the sand had come from my feet because that would mean I had been to the beach. But I haven't been to the beach lately. I don't think we even went once last Summer-due to the new pool. Where does it come from? Just how long can sand stay in the cracks and crevices of a child?
